Hip Hop From Ghana, NYC | Blitz the Ambassador - The Warm Up EP (Free Download)

We were first introduced to Ghana born, Kent State educated, and current resident of NYC, Blitz the Ambassador in 2009 when he dropped the album Stereotype - immediately becoming fans. Balancing soft harmonies, aggressive lyrics, and killer production with hard hitting politically and globally conscious rhymes, Blitz's music will make fans dance and force them to think.

Adding to the ever growing legend of Blitz the MC, The Warm Up Ep is also produced by Blitz and these beats and samples should force other producers to step their game up.

The President of Pop | Justin Timberlake's 2013 VMA Performance

Download Now | Jay-Z x Marvin Gaye - Brooklyn Soul Mixtape

We stumbled upon this little gem today on Soundcloud. Not sure if you can mashup up two bigger legends than this... but Mick Boogie always comes correct. This time he teams up with German beat maker Shuko to chop Marvin up and lace the beats with Hova vocals.

WhatUpWally? Productions - White Boys on My Team (prod. WhatUpWally?)

We have recently been back in the lab cooking up some fresh new beats for you to devour. This is the first track that WhatUpWally? Crew has produced in over 5 years and may be one of the best yet. The sample comes from the track "Pray" by Gilbere Forte and was originally produced by Raak.

Check out Forte's full album here... we consider it to be the best hip hop album of 2013 so far.

Live Acoustic Hip Hop | Wonder Brown Live and Acoustic at the Comet in Cincinnati, Ohio 6-19-13

Earlier this summer, we had the chance to hear Cincinnati hip hop artist and good friend of the WUW? crew perform a live acoustic set. Backed by a three piece band consisting of a cellist, bassist, and acoustic guitar, Wonder Brown unleashed a furious blues influenced performance.

Refusing to be content with traditional hip hop or his personal artistic success, Wonder Brown told us that he has been pushing himself to develop a more holistic performance incorporating more blues style vocals and live instrumentation into his already deep and dense lyrical style. Hip hop comes from the soul and Wonder Brown graciously offered up his soul to be shared with the crowd at the Comet on the Northside of the Nati.

Make sure you check out Wonder Brown's most recent solo album J.A.W.S., collabo album with Cas Metah - Darke Bros, as well as his work with the Scribbling Idiots Collective - The Have Nots.

Big ups to Abiyah for putting on some great hip hop shows this summer.

You can follow Wonder Brown on the Tweeters @Wonder_Brown and listen to his musical catalogue on Bandcamp.
